Color imageCLASS MF820Cdn Reviews– Designed to help users complete tasks quickly and efficiently, the advanced features of Imageclass MF820CDN provide impressive, customizable usability and save space. The MF820CDN is a new template for the Imageclass line. It adds a colorful touch panel of 3.5 “with adjustable angles. The MF820CDN combines all the needs of printing, copying, scanning and faxing for users of small and medium enterprises.

This machine has several different hardware and software configurations to meet the specific needs of its users. The Imageclass MF820CDN model incorporates innovative and environmentally friendly solutions that help keep your business operating efficiently while helping to reduce environmental impact.

Design and Features
The MF820Cdn can print, copy, scan and fax one or two-sided documents, print from a USB stick or mobile device. It also functions as a standalone fax machine and can send faxes from a PC.

It’s too big for a table and you’re going to want at least two people to put it in place. Its large, inclined front panel includes an alphanumeric keypad, a four-way controller, and a 3.5-inch touch-sensitive color LCD.

A 50-sheet automatic Document feeder (ADF) allows users to copy, scan, or fax from both sides of documents from multiple pages in legal size, digitizing one side of a document, turning and scanning the other side. A main paper tray for 550 sheets and a multipurpose feeder for 100 sheets are included, plus a duplexer for printing on both sides of a sheet of paper. Up to three optional paper trays for 500 sheets (US $299 each, or US $549 for three) can be added. Your maximum monthly duty cycle is 88,000 pages.

The MF820CDN offers Ethernet connectivity (including Gigabit Ethernet) and USB. It does not support Wi-Fi, but you can still print and scan from an IOS or Android mobile device if there is a wireless access point on the printer’s network. Supported applications and protocols include Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, Canon Mobile printing, and Canon Mobile Scanning for Business. I’ve tested the printer on an Ethernet connection with its drivers installed on a PC running Windows Vista.

This printer comes with several drivers: two Canon host-based drivers (UFR II) (one that supports the Microsoft XPS Document Writer); Two PCL drivers; And one for PostScript 3. Not all businesses need or use PostScript, but for those who do, a printer with a PostScript driver is indispensable.

Print speed
In its standard duplex mode, MF820CDN printed our business application package (according to qualitylogic hardware and software) at 7.1 pages per minute (ppm). This is slow for its price and estimated speed of 36ppm. It was a bit faster in simplex mode (unilateral), where we marked 8.3 ppm. In comparison, we timed the Dell C3765DNF color laser printer for US $445.00 on Amazon at 8.3 ppm in its standard duplex mode and 10.1 ppm for simplex. Dell C3765DNF, our Editors’Choice medium service printer for small and medium-sized businesses, is rated at 23 ppm for duplex and 36 ppm for simple

Output quality
The overall quality of the output is good, with medium text and graphics and slightly above average photos. The text should be good enough for any commercial use, except those that require very small fonts.

The graphics are of typical quality for a colorful laser. The colors are bright and well saturated. An illustration showed posterization, a tendency to abrupts changes in shading, where they should be gradual. Thin, colorful lines were weak. The graphics are good enough for any internal commercial use, and most people would consider them suitable for PowerPoint brochures.

The question of the note with pictures is that some impressions showed a slight reddish hue. Otherwise, the colors are bright and the details are good. The photos should be good enough for use in company newsletters and the like.

The operating costs of MF820CDN, based on Canon prices and toner and other consumables yield values, are 1.6 cents per monochrome page and 13 cents per page in colour. The cost in black and white is good for a printer for its price, while the color costs are on the high side. The color costs of the DELL C3765DNF are 1.5 cents per monochrome page and 10 cents per colored page. If you print in volume, the highest color costs of Canon will be added quickly. For 10,000 pages in color, the MF820Cdn inruns at US $300 more than Dell in color costs.

Conclusion
Although the Canon Color Imageclass MF820Cdn does not bring enough to topple Dell C3765DNF as the Editors ‘ choice, it is still a strong product. Its multiple printer drivers, good output quality across the line and generous standard and optional paper capacity make it worthy of a closer look by smaller companies that need to frequently print a mix of documents Monochrome and colorful.
